Golf and Your Health – How Walking Can Make an Impact

There is indeed a great relationship between golf and your health. Not only is it a great exercise method but it is also something that can be great in terms of aerobics.

One of the most important parts of golf and your health involves walking. While many courses want people to use carts so that they can get around the course faster and be able to complete their rounds sooner, walking is still another important part of golf and your health. Walking around the course is a great method of exercise in that it helps to improve the cardiovascular system. It is a low level exercise because not as much pressure is being used. This exercise will get the heart pumping and will get blood to circulate around the body at a greater level. This is an especially useful thing for one’s overall health.

Walking is good in terms of golf and your health in that not only will it help the body but it is also especially relaxing. Not only will this help to ease the body but it can even improve your golf game because you will feel more relaxed and therefore more capable of being able to get your golf game to work at its best.

How important is walking in terms of golf and your health? Studies state that walking an eighteen hole golf course is the equivalent of about half of the activity of what you would experience in a high intensity aerobic workout. It is also equal to walking about three or four miles on average. Your bad cholesterol can be lowered as a result too.

As mentioned earlier, walking does have more of an impact on golf and your health in that your golf game can improve. While walking along the golf course you’ll probably want to take in much of the beautiful scenery and landscapes that you’ll see around the course. During this process you can think about the next shot that you are going to take. You can also use the time to think about your last shot and consider what you need to improve on your particular game for the day. You can even use the changes in elevation that you’ll experience when walking to get ideas on how you can go about your next shot.

While golf can be useful for your health, it is still important to consult your doctor for information on whether or not this is right for you. In most cases a doctor will recommend that you should go walk the eighteen hole golf course, but there are some important concerns that may be present.

Overall, golf and your health are both well related, and by walking a course you can improve your health, relax your body and maybe even improve your golf game. Even if a golf cart is available on the course you are at walking will be especially useful for your game and for yourself.
